we ONLY see fragments of our own perspective
Robbie Jeffery is a contemporary Australian artist based in Geelong, Victoria, whose practice explores psychological tension through intentional abstraction. His paintings are restless, fragmented and unresolved, reflecting the limitations and complexities of individual perception.
Through layered marks, obscured forms and fractured spaces, Jeffery creates works that resist singular interpretation. Forms emerge, collapse and obscure one another, offering only partial glimpses of something that might be understood. Rather than providing resolution, the work lives within uncertainty and tension, where meaning remains unstable and perception becomes subjective.
Jeffery’s paintings create a space for the viewer to examine their own perspective and confront what remains unresolved within themselves.
